About
Each Texas Science Festival offers opportunities to explore demos, take tours, meet leading scientists and learn about the natural world.
Calling On All Who Love Science
Join us beginning on Feb. 21, 2025 to connect with the latest discoveries and phenomena shaping our world! The Texas Science Festival offers days of live and virtual programming to bring together scientists, science-inspired artists and people who delight in the natural world and in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics). Enjoy experiences of discovery, learning and curiosity-driven joy, brought to you by The University of Texas at Austin and its College of Natural Sciences.
Each Texas Science Festival has built bridges between the public and people like Nobel Prize-winning scientists, award-winning science writers and leading inventors whose work is changing the world. The festival offers opportunities to explore in areas as far-ranging as artificial intelligence, space, health and medicine, ecology and STEM education. Over several days, speakers, panelists, storytellers and performers help bring our wider community into the experiences of wonder and excitement, inherent in science.
Partners in Impact
The Texas Science Festival began virtually in early spring 2021 as an opportunity to bring Texans together with scientists and science alumni from The University of Texas at Austin. In later years, UT Austin and its College of Natural Sciences expanded the festival with partners across campus to offer live events, as well as virtual ones. In 2025, the festival has brought even more partners into the fold from the broader Central Texas community.
Accessible for All
The vast majority of festival events are free and open to the public, and our aim is to make science accessible. Events requiring tickets or advanced registration, which is typically free, are clearly labeled on the event descriptions on this website and FAQ page. You can help us keep the festival affordable and accessible for all by supporting our work.
