Join a 21+ event about the Universe, including talks and opportunities to interact with astronomers at Astronomy Uncorked.

Description

Among the most energetic events in the Universe are exploding stars, known as supernovae. Learn:

  • What are supernovae?
  • How do stars explode?
  • How did we discover Dark Energy?

Join Astronomy Uncorked to hear the answers to these questions and many more! Astronomy Uncorked is for ages 21+ and offers opportunities to learn about astronomy and the Universe in a free and open-to-the-public space. Enjoy a relaxed evening, learning a little astronomy over a glass of wine.

Brian Mulligan

Brian Mulligan is an adjunct professor of astronomy and physics at Austin Community College and St. Edward’s University. His current research focuses on understanding the cause of Type Ia supernovae (exploding white dwarfs).
